Hardy Jones (1945-2016)
Los Altos sculptor, orthopedic surgeon, husband, father and grandfather.
Hardy spent his first career as an orthopedic surgeon and his second welding scrap metal, old tools and found objects into whimsical sculpture. A 1952 Buick steering linkage, old farm equipment, truck and railroad yard fittings: each piece is as one-of-a-kind as its parts, reborn as a dancer, an animal or a warrior. More than 20 of his sculptures can be found around Los Altos, most of them in front of the schools.
